Several Commanders players have chosen to retire over the past few weeks.
In his Friday news conference, head coach Ron Rivera said that rookie linebacker Tre Walker has decided to put up his cleats.
Tre Walker, one of our inexperienced linebackers, decided to give up football. According to Rivera, who spoke to NBC Sports Washington, he wasn't present today. Tre is a good-hearted boy. A man in whom we had some faith. But regrettably, he decided that it was time to go. We thus wish him the best of luck.
Walker, a player from Idaho who went undrafted, signed with Washington. He made one hundred five total tackles in 11 games during his last collegiate season.
Additionally, Antonio Gandy-Golden retired from the Commanders last week. He was switching from tight end to receiver.
Although it is uncommon for two players to retire during training camp, Rivera claimed it does happen sometimes.
Rivera answered, "Oh, yes, it happens. It does occur.
