Who's Deshaun?
Jacoby Brissett didn't exhibit the traits of a backup quarterback who is a temporary replacement. Brissett shone during Thursday Night Football, helping the Browns defeat the Steelers 29-17.
Brissett completed 21 of 31 throws for 220 yards and two touchdowns while Deshaun Watson serves an 11-game ban.
In their 376-yard drive against the Steelers without T.J. Watt, the Browns had no issue moving the ball. Kareem Hunt added 47 yards on 12 attempts, while Nick Chubb gained 113 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries as Cleveland's offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage.
David Njoku
David Njoku made nine catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, while Amari Cooper made seven catches for 101 yards and a score.
Brown's supporters, who are still in shock over their team's loss last week, watched as the Steelers covered 63 yards in seven plays in only 1:25. With 1:48 remaining, Chris Boswell's 34-yard field goal pulled the Steelers within 23-17.
Browns failed to cleanly field
Boswell's onside kick, however, was out of bounds because the Browns failed to cleanly field it for the second week in a row because George Pickens was offsides. With just one timeout left, the Steelers managed to stop the Browns and force a punt. With nine seconds left, they received the ball at the Cleveland 4-yard line.
Steelers are 1-2 and Mitch Trubisky was 20 of 32 for 207 yards
On the final play, the Steelers' two laterals forced them backward, and Denzel Ward recovered the ball in the end zone to give the Browns a touchdown.
Given that the Steelers are 1-2 and Mitch Trubisky was 20 of 32 for 207 yards, there will undoubtedly be a clamour for Kenny Pickett to start the next week.
