The seven-time Puerto Rican division champion will seek to add another belt to her collection this afternoon when she faces Sarah Mahfoud at the Manchester Arena in England.
The fight will have three of the four titles of the leading boxing organizations at stake.
Mahfoud will defend the crown of the International Federation (IBF)
Mahfoud will defend the crown of the International Federation (IBF), while Serrano will put at stake the 126-pound titles of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the World Council (WBC). The International Organization (OIB) championship will also be on the line.
The brawl will be broadcast on the DAZN application starting in the afternoon.
I will give everything in the ring to emerge as the new IBF champion, " promised Serrano in a recent meeting with Mahfoud before the fight.
Both champions had their last face-to-face yesterday during the weigh-in ceremony.
Addressed the differences between the fighter she faced in April -the Irish champion Katie Taylor- and the one who will now defend her titles, Serrano assured that they would see much more power and speed.
"You will see it on Saturday. I am fast and strong. I have been campaigning in this division since I was a fan. Usually, when I gain weight, I enter the ring at a disadvantage, and that is a disadvantage.
For his part, Mahfoud was discreet when anticipating a successful defense of his belt and limited himself to being grateful for the opportunity to face Serrano.
"I have this belt. I earned it. I think it's an excellent opportunity to prove myself on a big stage.
I respect Amanda, and I am focused on standing up to her in the ring," said the boxer from England.
"We prepare for the fight. We have seen their fights. I think I have good opportunities. I believe that" she continued.
Serrano – 42-2-1 with 30 KOs – will make his first appearance in the ring since succumbing to Taylor's controversial split decision for the 135-pound titles last April.
This will be Serrano's debut in Europe.
For his part, Mahfoud –with a record of 11-0 and three KOs– will have his second title defense and his first fight outside his native Denmark.
