Brady and Sean Payton, the quarterback and former head coach of the Saints, were tampered with by the Dolphins, who lost two draught selections as a result.
Brady, of course, is still on the field for the Buccaneers despite taking a brief hiatus in the spring. On Wednesday, head coach Todd Bowles directed questions regarding the announcement.
He didn't have a whole lot.
The league dealt with it. Bowles stated during his news conference that it has nothing to do with us. We make an effort to minimize noise from outside. And as I have no genuine knowledge of it, there is nothing to be said on that front.
Dolphins executives engaged in inappropriate conversations with Brady and his agent during and after the 2021 season,
when he was under contract to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers," according to the league's inquiry.
These negotiations, which should have started no later than early December 2021, were mainly about Brady joining the Dolphins as a limited partner and possibly as a football executive. They occasionally also mentioned the prospect of his playing for the team.
Brady, though, is still a member of Tampa Bay and is now in training camp to prepare for the team's 2022 campaign. And now that his career is concluding, Brady is slated to announce games for FOX.
Whatever happens after that, the Dolphins' attempts to sign Brady was a failure. He already has one trophy for the Bucs, and they could earn another.
