Santa Anita Park will host the Breeders' Cup World Championships in 2023 for a record-breaking 11th time, according to the Breeders' Cup, one of thoroughbred racing's most prestigious competitions.
It will be held over two days of championship racing at one of the world's most scenic racetracks, the Breeders' Cup will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2013. Participants, horses, and fans from all over the world will attend.
On Friday, the Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held Nov. 3, at 1/ST RACING's Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. They will feature 14 Grade 1 races with purses and awards totaling more than $31 million.
Breeders' Cup President and CEO Drew Fleming stated that Santa Anita Park is "integral to Breeders' Cup history" and "is the right destination for our momentous 40th running." The Breeders' Cup continues to be one of the top international Thoroughbred racing events since our founders came up with the idea for this season-ending championship four decades ago.

Based on a 2017 study, the Breeders' Cup estimates that the 2023 World Championships will have a nearly $100 million economic impact on Southern California. Fans and visitors from all over the world are anticipated to attend races and support nearby hotels, restaurants, and other entertainment venues, given that the World Championships are taking place for the 40th time and have Santa Anita as its picturesque backdrop. Over the years, Santa Anita has regularly set the bar for attendance and wagering at the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
With 118,484 spectators, the 2016 World Championships at Santa Anita holds the event's all-time attendance record. In 2019, Santa Anita hosted the World Championships for the final time, and a new wagering record of more than $175 million was achieved.
