Alyson Stryker, gallery manager of Spa Fine Art, stated, "We're happy to showcase such an extraordinary collection and body of artwork by Lisa Palombo, honoring the famous Secretariat and his record of excellence. We're honored to have represented horse artist Lisa Palombo for over a decade. Her reputation and fan base continue to expand on a global scale.
Secretariat is the most famous name in Thoroughbred racing and is regarded as the finest racehorse of all time. After winning the Triple Crown in 1973, "Big Red," as he is more well known, became known as America's Horse. He won the Belmont Stakes in a record time and is now regarded as one of the best horse racing performances in history.
"Most people know Secretariat from his epic Triple Crown campaign, but many forget that Big Red's most memorable moments came at Saratoga, both 2 and 3," said Steve Haskin. His old Secretariat images will also be exhibited during the event. The legend began in this place over 27 days.
The talented artist Lisa Palombo has made Big Red one of her favorite subjects and depicted him from every angle, from his magnificent stride and powerful shoulders to his alert eyes peering through his blinkers in classic headshots drawing off to his five-length victory in the Hopeful Stakes. Secretariat returns to Saratoga in a dazzling display of color.
