Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames are poised to re-sign Jonathan Huberdeau a few days after Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving traveled to Montreal to meet him in person for dinner. According to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, it will be an eight-year extension worth $10.5 million per season.
The deal included an entire no-trade clause, though there was a modified no-trade clause for the last two seasons (Huberdeau could list all 12 teams he allowed trades).

Florida Panthers
The Flames acquired Huberdo, 29, from the Florida Panthers 13 days ago as part of a trade that sent Matthew Tkachuk to South Florida. On Monday, Treliving and Huberdeau met for dinner for the first time. Now? Huberdeau established himself as a longtime hockey club member.
The left winger arrives at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Huberdeau set an NHL single-season record for left assists with 85, ranked second in league with 115, and fifth in Hart Trophy voting. Originally the third overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft, Huberdeau scored 613 points in 671 games during his NHL regular season career.
Once it goes into effect, the Huberdeau deal would be the richest in Flames history. The $10.5 million AAV dwarfed Jarome Iginla and Matthew Tkachuk's $7 million, while the $84 million total topped Sean Monahan's $44.625 million deal before his senior year.
