The NHL will return to Europe next season with the commencement of the NHL Global Series in 2022.
When the NHL regular season resumes in 2022-23, the Predators and Sharks will play two games at O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. The Avalanche and Blue Jackets will meet again a few weeks later in Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, on November 4 and 5.
Before traveling to Prague, both the Predators and Sharks will play exhibition games against European clubs. Nashville will face SC Bern on Oct. 3 at Post Finance Area in Bern, Switzerland, and the Sharks will face Eisbaren Berlin on Oct. 4 at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.
The NHL will make its sixth regular-season trip to Europe, the first since the Global Series in Berlin, Prague, Lausanne, Switzerland, and Stockholm, Sweden, in 2019. The NHL has to postpone the 2020 Global Series due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bruins, Predators, Avalanche, and Blue Jackets held games in Prague, Bern, Helsinki, Finland, and Mannheim, Germany.
Mikko Rantanen, Artturi Lehkonen, Patrik Laine, Joonas Korpisalo (Finland), Roman Josi (Switzerland), Tomas Hertl, Radim Simek, and David Rittich are among the players who will compete in the 2022 NHL Global Series at home (Czech Republic).
