Norway continues to triumph and sets a record.
Gold medals won by any nation in a single Winter Olympics were 16 by Norway in Beijing.
Competitors from the government have won gold in various events, including biathlon, speed skating, and cross-country skiing.
According to CNN's Henry Enten, Norway's success at the Olympics is mainly due to two key factors:
The country's prosperous GDP
Ranking in the top 35 globally
The perfect weather for winter sports
Winter sports demand a lot of equipment, preparation, and money.

Three events in which Shiffrin had previously won medals during her Olympic run at Beijing 2022 resulted in DNFs (did not finish).
At the Games this year, Mikaela Shiffrin faced numerous challenges. Fans anticipated a three-peat from the American skier in Beijing after she won gold medals in 2018 and 2014, respectively.
The 26-year-old Shiffrin's plans, however, didn't exactly pan out as she suffered three DNFs (did-not-finish) after collapsing in three separate competitions.

Chloe Kim strives for excellence (again)
Chloe Kim delighted in yet another Olympic Games.
The irrepressible snowboarder, now 21 years old, won gold in the women's halfpipe, the same event where she won a gold medal when she was just 17 years old in 2018.
No one, possibly except Kim herself, was surprised when she again dominated. Before her gold-medal performance, she claimed to have had "the worst practice ever," failing to stick the majority of her landings.
She attempted a trick that required three and a half spins in the air and scored 94, advancing her to the gold once more. This time, her shaky practice didn't show on the snow.
Due to Zhu Yi's performance, the internet is on fire. Following a mishap on the rink earlier this month during the women's figure skating short program
China's Zhu received criticism for slipping into her routine.
The 19-year-old competitor for Team China from California received a barrage of unfavorable remarks online.
In addition to her underwhelming performance at the Games, Zhu, who gave up her citizenship in the United States to participate in China's team in 2018 and changed her name from Beverly Zhu, has criticized Chinese spectators for her poor command of the language.
Zhu nevertheless appreciates her journey to the Games in 2022. This week, Zhu wrote on Instagram that she had "persisted through years of adversity, and emerged out a stronger person."
Erin Jackson, a speed skater for the United States, won a gold medal after almost choosing not to compete.
After falling during the qualifying trials, the American speed skater almost didn't qualify for the Olympics. Luckily, a colleague gave up her seat so Jackson could compete.
That trade paid off handsomely; according to Team USA, Jackson, 29, became the first Black woman to medal in Olympic speed skating and the first American woman to take home a gold medal in the sport since 1994.
She secured the win by skating just 0.08 seconds faster than Japan's silver medallist.
"Much shock, much relief, and much delight"
Moment of history for Meyers Taylor
Pose happily. Following the two-woman bobsleigh final, Elana Meyers Taylor and Sylvia Hoffman of Team US celebrate their bronze medal.
Meyers Taylor won a bronze medal in the two-woman bobsleigh on Saturday, making her the most decorated Black Olympian in history.
Meyers Taylor's fifth medal makes her the most decorated female bobsledder in Olympic history, surpassing Shani Davis' four.
Meyers Taylor exclaimed, "It's so strange to hear that statistic and to know that I'm part of a legacy bigger than myself. "It should just inspire more and more black athletes to participate in winter sports, not just black athletes, winter sports for everyone," one person hoped.
Meyers Taylor, the flagbearer for Team USA, revealed that this would be her last Olympics. Thus, the closing ceremony on Sunday was probably a sad moment for her.
"I'm going to think about this for a little bit. It will be complicated to surpass these Olympics. It will be pretty challenging to top two medals and then finish with flagbearer.
