#6 Woodland Walk: The seventh race on the jam-packed Saturday card at Thistledown is a starting allowance race over six furlongs.
Woodland Walk is 11 years old but still in great shape. In four of his last five starts, he has achieved a Brisnet figure of at least 93. His only recent loss occurred on Turfway Park's synthetic surface, but he performs well at Thistledown, where he has an 11-for-24 lifetime record. In his most recent start, he ran wide on the pace, where he impressively pulled away to win by 3 1/4 lengths. He should be able to arrange a trip similar to the last one, and he will be well-positioned to start a strong rally on the turn.

Rumble Strip #2 Ron: The first of four stakes events on the calendar will feature one 1/16-mile race against eight 3-year-olds from Ohio. The June 3 Green Carpet Stakes at Belterra Park is a race rematch. The top four finishers in this event and seven other horses have competed there before. Whoever you believe raced the most incredible race that day will determine much of this event.
Bruiser Strip Ron's performance required him to overcome a lot of hardship. Although he frequently races close to the front, he started a little rough and dropped off the pace.
On the turn, he gained a lot of ground, and in the stretch, he also gained ground. He engaged in a duel on the lane rail, finished second by a hair, and tied his career-high score of 79. A promising indicator is that Sonny Leon, who rode him that day and typically rode Green Carpet winner Country Club Bobby, has chosen to continue riding this horse. Rumble Strip Ron should be prepared to perform another impressive performance in an ideal environment.
