The Michigan Panthers defeat the Pittsburgh Maulers by scoring 33-21 in a match between two 1-8 teams, giving them one more victory for the year.

The first pick in each round of the 2023 USFL Draft will go to Michigan (2-8). The Panthers' lone victory this year came in Week 3 against the Maulers when they defeated Pittsburgh 24-0.

Michigan quickly took a 21-0 advantage. Pittsburgh made a comeback in the second half, twice closing the gap on a 9-point disadvantage. Jameson Houston's decisive interception sealed Michigan's victory as the Panthers held off the Maulers.

A solid passing game for the Panthers was on display. Despite struggling with an ankle injury, quarterback Paxton Lynch played the entire game today, completing 22 30 throws for 275 yards and three touchdowns. A scoop-and-score by safety Cory Rahman in the first quarter was one of three turnovers the Panther's defence forced from the Maulers.

Pittsburgh finishes the year with a 1-9 record, the poorest mark in the USFL. The Houston Gamblers were upset 21-20 by them in Week 5 to give them their lone victory.
